This month, our newsletter involves information on upcoming CPD, responsive to school's needs:

Leading a Subject Effectively                                                                                                                                        
Date: Tuesday 19th June 2018 Time: 9.30-4pm                                                                                                 

This course will enable participants to explore key aspects of the role of subject leadership as well as looking at key skills required to be effective in the role. They will gain a wider understanding of how inspectors evaluate leadership and what subject surveys involve. Participants will also consider how to ensure their monitoring and evaluation activities are effective and leading to improvement.

Making School Lunchtimes Better                                                                                                                           
Cost: £20 per session (£80 for all four)

This programme of learning is designed for midday supervisors and aims to:                                                                                                                                        

  • Clarify roles and responsibilities;
  • Review a range of skills and techniques to promote positive behaviour;

  • Create a calm dining room using evidence-based best practice;
  • Review play and its importance at lunchtime;

Leading a Mentally Healthy School
Day 1: Tuesday 5th June 2018
Day 2: Monday 18th June 2018                                     Time: 9.30-4pm                                                     Cost: £350
Leading a Mentally Healthy School training modules have been funded by Health Education England (HEE) and created by the School Development Support Agency (SDSA) in partnership with an expert group of educational psychologists, education consultants and mental health organisations.
The two day course is aimed specifically at Senior Leaders and focuses on reflection of current provision and strategic planning to help develop a mentally healthy school.
 Leading a Mentally Healthy School aims:
¨ to enable and empower senior leaders to put mental health at the heart of strategic school improvement.
¨ to equip senior leaders with practical and sustainable approaches that can be implemented on return to school.
Developing a High Quality English Long Term Plan (with Jeannie Bulman)                          
Date: Thursday 7th June 2018, 2-4pm                                                                                                       Cost: £65
This course aims to support English Subject Leads with developing a long term plan for English  with a  skills based focus utilising: spelling, punctuation and grammar.
With a resident publisher in situ with Jeannie, English subject Leads will have the opportunity to explore high quality texts , some hot off  the press, that are linked to school topics to build into their English Plan.
There will be opportunities to match units through:
- Picture books
 - Novels
- Films

Supporting Children in Planning and Leading Collective Worship (with Sally Lidbury) 
Date: Thursday 28th June 2018, 1.30-3.30pm                                                                                                       Cost: £60
A practical workshop which will explore how schools can successfully support children in planning and leading Collective Worship. It will provide an opportunity to develop a clear whole school  approach, based on tried and tested ideas.
Together we will explore how involving children in leading worship can make a difference to the lives of the whole school community.
