We welcome enquiries from headteachers and senior leaders who are able to share their skills and expertise in supporting other schools. If you are an experienced headteacher with a strong track record of outstanding leadership and providing support to other schools you may also be eligible to become a National Leader of Education (NLE) or Local Leader of Education (LLE).
NLEs are recruited through the National College for Teaching and Leadership. Applications are open several times a year. The full application criteria and information on the role can be found here.
Recruitment for LLEs is currently being transitioned from the National College to Teaching Schools. You can find out more about the role and application criteria here. If you are interested in this role please contact us and we can let you have the very latest information on where and when recruitment is happening for this role.
Once you have been designated as an NLE or LLE, you can work with us at Equate to provide school support packages. In addition to gaining payments for your time, into your school, you will have access to regular network events and CPD opportunities, including those with grant funding from the National College. The dedicated Equate admin team will also be on hand to offer you support and coordination for your school support work.
If you are an outstanding middle or senior leader looking to support your peers through mentoring and sharing of your expertise, find out more about becoming an SLE on our Specialist Leaders of Education page.
If you are not eligible, or do not wish to become a designated NLE, LLE or SLE, we are still very interested in working with you. Many of the terms and conditions will be the same, and in some cases it will enable you to gain experience to enable you to apply for these roles in the future.
